Preparing Children for Kindergarten Success
Schedule a TourPre-K at Bits of Stardust
Our Pre-K program blends academic instruction with hands-on learning and purposeful play. Teachers guide children through daily activities that strengthen reading readiness, writing skills, math concepts, and critical thinking. Lessons are structured to reflect a kindergarten-style classroom while remaining engaging and age-appropriate, allowing children to grow academically while building confidence and independence.
Early Literacy & Reading Readiness
Children work on letter recognition, phonics, sight words, and early reading skills through guided instruction and daily practice. Storytime, writing activities, and group discussions help children develop strong language skills and an understanding of how reading and writing work in a classroom setting.
Math Foundations & Problem Solving
Our Pre-K curriculum introduces numbers, counting, patterns, sorting, and basic math concepts through interactive activities. Children are encouraged to think critically, ask questions, and solve problems, building confidence in their math abilities while developing logical thinking skills.
Classroom Structure & Independence
Pre-K students learn important classroom habits such as following routines, listening to instructions, participating in group learning, and completing tasks independently. These skills help children feel comfortable and confident in a structured learning environment similar to kindergarten.
Building Confidence and Social Skills
Social and emotional development is a key part of our Pre-K program. Children learn how to communicate respectfully, work cooperatively with peers, and manage emotions in a classroom setting. Through group activities, guided play, and teacher support, children develop self-confidence, empathy, and positive problem-solving skills that support both learning and healthy relationships.
Supporting a Smooth Transition to Kindergarten
The transition from Pre-K to kindergarten is an important milestone, and our program is designed to help children feel ready and confident for this next step. Our learning environment mirrors many aspects of a kindergarten classroom, including structured schedules, group instruction, and independent work time.
Teachers focus on helping children become comfortable with classroom expectations, routines, and social interactions. By the time children complete our Pre-K program, they are familiar with the structure of a school day and prepared to transition smoothly into kindergarten.
